I can't remember a time in sports where so many surprising things happened in Cincinnati in a week.

Hard to believe the Reds have spent or will spend about 300 million on two guys in a week.

When I heard a week ago about Joey Votto's long-term deal  I was in shock and when Brandon Phillip's deal became official yesterday I was happy.

Yes it's a fair question to ask..How will the club pay for it? Will ticket prices go up? Phillips age could be a factor?

What came to my mind was this team is pretty serious about winning now. This is the season to win because guys are only going to get older.

Other stuff...

Bobby Petrino offered a statement.

Did Tony Romo do this right?
