The blog
I don't say this enough: Thanks for checking out the blog.
I try to make the blog an extension of the show. Ideally the blog becomes a destination, kind of a one stop shopping place. Rather than you spending time searching for info on Reds, Bengals, UC, XU, UK, Ohio State and teams around the Tri-State, I try to put it all in one spot. I start putting the blog together each morning around 6:30am. The initial blog is usually up by 10 or 11am. I will then add to the blog based, on new information, throughout the day and night. I will try to add stuff on the weekend, but I try to unplug and get away from it. I can't thank all my contributors enough, from current/former players, to administrators, current/former coaches, front office people, agents and scouts. I love it when a listener provides a link or heads up on something I have not seen. I can't keep track of everything.
What the blog is:
*News, stats, stories, transactions and perspective on area teams and their opponents. I like to find stuff you won't normally see or find. I like providing you perspective about area teams from media in other cities.
*A place to go if you miss the show. I offer you a podcast.
What the blog is not:
*Me writing a lot. I do a radio show. I talk. I don't have time to write all my thoughts. Plus, you don't have time to read a daily novel. I'll give you a paragraph from stories and let you decide if you want to click on the link for more.
*A sports page. I simply don't have time to include everything, everyone and every team.
*Game recaps. You can find boxscores and recaps anywhere.

Bengals Pep Rally (radio show)

Years ago, Lance McAlister used to host a radio show on Friday afternoons during NFL season, called the Bengals Pep Rally. Back in the 2006 season, it was hosted at Willie's Sports Cafe in Mason, OH, and aired on AM 1530 Homer (The Sports Animal) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Thursday, November 30, 2006, the Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Baltimore Ravens in a Thursday Night Football game that was broadcast by the NFL Network.
Since the usual Bengals players who joined the show for hour 1 each week wouldn't be readily available for the Friday show (on December 1), Lance went with a different format for hour 1 of the show. He assembled the "Roundtable of Regulars" -- a group of three show callers/contributors who were "regular" fans not affiliated with the Bengals or in the media. That group of Hammy, Herb from Mt. Healthy, and Steven Sharp joined Lance for hour 1 of the three-hour show, provided a recap of the previous night's Bengals game win, and offered thoughts on the next Bengals game and the rest of the 2006 season. David Fulcher joined Lance for hour 2, and Chick Ludwig (then a Bengals beat writer with the Dayton Daily News) joined Lance for hour 3

Bluegrass-Buckeye Charity Classic
Three games between boys’ high school basketball teams
from Kentucky and Ohio make up the schedule for the
Bluegrass-Buckeye Charity Classic to be played this Sunday
at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Ky.
The three interstate match-ups are:
Oak Hills (Ohio) vs. Holmes (Ky.) at 1 p.m.
Purcell-Marian (Ohio) vs. South Laurel (Ky.) at 3 p.m.
Cincinnati Taft (Ohio) vs. Lexington Dunbar (Ky.) at 5 p.m.
Proceeds from the classic will be donated to three local
charities that are listed on the attached press release along
