Dalton outshines RG3 as Bengals hold off Redskins
AP
"We're making plays,'' receiver A.J. Green said, "all over the field.''
No doubt about that.
The Bengals opened the game with rookie receiver Mohamed Sanu throwing a 73-yard touchdown to Green. Green-Ellis took a direct snap on a 1-yard touchdown run to make the score 24-7 in the second quarter. Cincinnati also ran several end-arounds and used a no-huddle package that befuddled the Redskins. Dalton completed scoring throws of 48 yards to Armon Binns and 59 yards to Andrew Hawkins.

Hoard: RR1 is pretty special too

Opening observations before watching again
Big plays, chunk plays, fast start, six sacks of RG3, still scared of the D, but a 2-1 record beats 0-3 and 1-2. And a road win.
NFL Parity
3-0 teams: 3
0-3 teams: 2
2-1 teams: 11
1-2 teams: 14
1-1 teams: 2
Offense
Loved Jay Gruden's Sam Wyche like creativity. Can you imagine that from Brat?
How about Sanu on 1st play? Nice throw.
Love showing all those things for defenses to gameplan for each week.
Who can cover AJ Green? 9-181-TD
Dalton: 328 yards and 3 more TDs...very good again in 4th QT.
The defense is putting a lot of pressure on the offense to keep scoring.
How often do you see an INT in the endzone like Dalton's pick 6?
Binns is very good as creating separation. Good blizt pick-up by BJGE on the TD.
BJGE fumbled? 1st x since Nov. '07 playing for Ole Miss.
BJGE Wildcat TD!
Does Gresham get a false start penalty every week? Toss in missed block and drop on 2nd and 2.
Love Hawkins on the end around. He's lethal in space.
How about Hawkin's acceleration on 59-yd TD?
Whit drove Madieu Williams from the 8 yd line to 4 yds deep in endzone on AJ's end around to the one yard line.
Nice grab, in traffic, by Orson Charles for his 1st NFL catch.
Nice sequence of catches: AJ 32 yds, Charles, Gresh TD.
Defense
Welcome back Carlos.
6 sacks of RG3. Huge sack with :29 left and Wash on Bengals 19.
D-line able to stay fresher and it showed.
Secondary much better job not biting on play action.
DL still lost contain a couple of times.
Dunalp sack, FF, FR
M. Johnson was a beast with 3 sacks...including 3rd and 8 hold after B-B TD.
Wow is Atkins quick going side to side.
3rd and 6 stop, Lawson crushed RG3, MJ tipped pass.
What was Newman doing with late hit on RG3?
Adam Jones nice pass break up
Defense on heels to start 2nd half. Allowed B-B TD drives of 80,86 yds.
Big stop after B-B TD drives: MJ sack 2nd and 10, Dunlap pressure 3rd and 10 incomplete.
No Leon Hall
Nice step up by Clements...played CB and SS
Too many high tackles
RG3 won't make it through season with that many option read plays
Special Teams
Didn't get the fake FG, not with chance to go up 10, on road
Nice punt Huber, nice hustle by Hawkins to down at 2 yd line.
Poor 29 yd punt Huber.
Miles offsides on KO was killer.....cost 32 yds.
Newman: Just get away from the ball.

Next up: At Jacksonville
Jaguars won at Indy 22-17
They rallied from 11 down. Scored game winner with :45, then held on.
Trailing 17-16 with :56 left and no timeouts remaining, Blaine Gabbert fired a 17yd strike to Cecil Shorts who took it 80yds to win the game.
Bob Bratkowski is the Jax OC. Getting a lot of heat in Jacksonville for being conservative.
Gabbert threw ball just 21 times. (Just 79 attempts on year, 4 TD/0 INT)
They ran 3rd and 9, own 21, less 2-minutes left in game.
MJD 28 carries 177 yards. Averaging 5.3 yds on season.
Justin Blackmon (Okl St) just 1 catch for 7 yds. (4-31 on year)/Drops

Reds

Reds, Giants share challenges, and clinching day
CBS Sports
The Giants lost closer Brian Wilson after just two April appearances. They lost Cabrera in August.
Cabrera seemed crucial to the Giants' offense when they still had him. He's still leading the National League in batting now. He's still second on the team in RBI.
The Giants were tied for the division lead with the Dodgers the day he was suspended.
They've gone 25-10 since.
They've been so good that they'd still be leading the division, even if they 10 wins deducted for using a cheater for the first 4 1/2 months.

Postgame?
From FS Ohio
Going into today's Reds game on FOX, the Reds magic number for clinching the NL Central was 1. FOX Sports Ohio had every intention of covering post-game celebration live if the Reds won.
When it looked as though the Reds were going to win, we promoted that we would have live celebration coverage immediately following the game.
Unfortunately just prior to air, the signal was lost out of Cincinnati. Our engineers feverishly tried to restore the transmission but they were unable to recover it.
We will air special on Monday at 8pm, featuring the post-game celebration. While this special cannot replace the live coverage lost this evening, we hope Reds fans will be able to enjoy the Reds clinching the Central Division.
We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and frustration this caused so many Reds fans.

The weekend

It was Father/Daughter Date Night Friday Night. I took Peyton to the NKU women's soccer game. We had hot chocolate and watched soccer. That's a great setting for soccer.  Cool stadium.
